Package Point Activation Terms and Conditions for Package Receiving Services


This Agreement is entered into by the Customer and Package Point, located at 10008 103 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 1B8, to receive/hold packages and mail on behalf of the Customer.

1. Nature of Service

Package Point provides package receiving and temporary holding services. Customers are assigned a unique account number, starting with the letter "P", for identification and internal processing purposes only. The number and the address are provided in Section 12. The Customer is required to pick up packages after being notified, within the hold period defined by their selected plan.

2. Permitted Use

The Customer agrees to use Package Point's services only for the lawful receipt of packages and deliveries. Services may not be used for illegal or fraudulent purposes, including, but not limited to, the receipt of prohibited items, contraband, or shipments violating Canadian laws or carrier policies.

3. Authorized Recipients

Customers must list any additional authorized recipients. Deliveries for names not listed on the account may be refused or returned to the sender. Updates to authorized names must be provided in writing.

Each additional household member or employee added as a notification recipient may incur an extra monthly fee, as outlined in the plans below. The household member must reside at the same address, and if an employee, they must work for the same company as the account holder. Proof of address or employment may be confirmed.

4. Membership Plans & Fees

Package Point offers the following plans:

 

Zero Plan (No Monthly Fee)

·         $20 Yearly Fee (First 5 Packages per year Free)

·         $4 per Package and $2 per mail item

·         Single member for notifications

·         14 Days free Storage, then $1/day/package

·         Email Notifications

Unlimited Plan ($19/Month or $99/6 Months or $179/Year):

·         Includes Unlimited Packages

·         Single member for notifications.

·         Extra household members $4/month

·         30 Days of free storage, then $1/day/package

·         Email Notifications

Payment for packages picked up under the Zero Plan must be made either in person at pickup or online before release. All recurring Package Point plans must be paid online using our secure payment system. By subscribing, you authorize Package Point to automatically withdraw plan or pickup fees from your securely stored credit card on the pickup or renewal date.

5. Package Handling & Notifications

Package Point will notify customers of incoming deliveries by email. Notifications are included in all plans.

Customers are responsible for collecting packages within the applicable period. Unclaimed packages may be returned to the sender, disposed of, or subject to storage fees at the Store's discretion.

To retrieve a package, the Customer (or authorized recipient) must present either their unique Package Point QR code or a valid government-issued photo ID that matches the account holder or an authorized name listed on the account. This is required for verification and security purposes.

6. Forwarding Services

Forwarding and shipping are available upon written request. The Customer must prepay shipping charges, packing materials, and a handling fee of $4 per shipment. Forwarding is provided for up to 30 days following cancellation.

7. Prohibited Items

Package Point will not accept shipments of hazardous materials, controlled substances, live animals, firearms, or other items restricted by law or courier terms. Any such items will be refused or reported to the authorities.

8. Import Duties & Fees

The Customer is responsible for all duties, taxes, and brokerage charges on imported goods. Any shipments that arrive for a customer with duties charged at drop-off will be charged a 10% service fee plus the duty charge at the time of pickup. This fee covers the merchant fees and administration. The Store may refuse to release packages until such fees are paid.

9. Liability

Package Point shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, non-delivery, or misdelivery of any package before its physical receipt and acceptance at our facility. The customer acknowledges and agrees that Package Point is not responsible for the condition, contents, delivery status, or timely arrival of any package until the package has been officially received and signed for by an authorized representative of Package Point.

Package Point does not have prior notice of, nor control over, the origin, carrier, contents, declared value, delivery time, or manner of delivery of any package addressed to the customer. The customer is solely responsible for providing accurate shipping information to their carrier and for tracking the status of their shipments before arrival at Package Point.

Customers are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate insurance coverage through their chosen carrier for any high-value or sensitive items, as Package Point does not provide insurance for packages before receipt. Any concerns or disputes regarding carrier delivery status, shipping delays, or the condition of items upon arrival at Package Point must be addressed directly with the relevant shipping provider. Suppose a shipment arrives at Package Point visibly damaged. In that case, we will document the issue, including photographs of the package, the date and time of receipt, and notify the customer as soon as possible. This documentation is provided as a courtesy to assist customers in resolving any claims with the shipping carrier.

Under no circumstances shall Package Point be held liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from delays, theft, damage, loss, or misrouting that occur before the package is received and entered our custody. Acceptance of any package by Package Point occurs only upon documented receipt at our facility.

10. Termination

This Agreement may be terminated by the Customer at any time with written notice. The Store may terminate this Agreement with 7 days' written notice for any of the following:

1.    Failure to pay

2.    Abandonment of service

3.    Illegal use

11. Indemnity

The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Package Point from any claims, damages, or losses resulting from the Customer's use of the service.

13. Schedule Of Fees

Membership Plans

Additional Service Fees

Duties & Taxes Advancement

Cost of duties and taxes plus 10% service fee

Pallet Receiving Fee

$10 per pallet shipment

Pallet Disposal Fee

$10 per pallet, if not taken by the customer

Forwarding Fee

$4 per outgoing shipment plus materials and shipping charges.

General Fee Terms

All fees are subject to applicable taxes.

Package Point reserves the right to apply additional handling fees for items requiring excessive labor, space, or special handling.

Items delivered in unusually large quantities or requiring significant manual handling may incur additional handling fees.
